Zeus, king of the gods.

                                                               

     I read the book Zeus, king of the gods. The Author of the book is George O'connor. before anything there was Kaos, out from Kaos came Gaea. Gaea and Ouranos had children they where the titans, cyclopes and the Hekatonchieres. Ouranos did not like the cyclopes and the Hekatonchieres he sent them to Tartaros, Gaea did not like this so she gave Kronos a sickle to kill Ouranos. The blood of Ouranos landed and made the Gigantes,Nymphs and the three strange ladies. Kronos and Rhea then had babies they where the gods, Kronos was afraid of them overthrowing him so he ate all of them except Zeus. Rhea hid Zeus with the nymphs. Later the Nymphs gave Zeus a plant to make his father barf his brothers and sisters up. Zeus then freed the cyclopes and the Hekatonchieres  (he got his lightning bolt from them) then they all overthrew his father. He was then crowned king of the gods.

     I picked out a important theme from this book. I think that it was that with help you  can  overcome anything. Like Zeus would not be able to overthrow his father without the plant that he was given. This theme can be put in real life whenever you need help, it can even be getting help on school work. I think this theme good theme and it can be used throughout life.

    This book was very good. I think I would recommend  this book to a friend. I think my friends would like this book. They might  not even like mythology but still like this book because of the action like I did.  Overall I enjoyed this book and my friends would too.

the House of the Scorpion

    I read the House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. The main  storyline is about a clone named Matt. He was the clone of a 148 year old drug lord, El patron. El Patron was nearing his death, the greedy old man still wanted to live so the clones that he made of himself  where going to have their organs harvested to keep him alive. Matt learned of this plan and with the help of his friends Celia, Tam Lin, and Maria He escaped to a country between South America and Opium. He was held captive and forced to work as soon as he crossed the border. He later than escaped again with more friends to find Maria who was in the same country at the time. Once he did he found out that he was the heir to the country Opium. He has made plans to free the slave people and take down the borders to make peace.

    The theme of this story is that you can grow up being disposable and, with the help of friends you can become something much more . I can relate to this book because in hard times I have had friends help me out. This book also related to me in different ways. But that's another reason I liked this book.

    This book really appealed to me . The storyline was very exiting and suspending at times. The characters also where easy to relate to. I would definitely recommend this book to others. They would enjoy for the same reasons as me.

Garrett, the best exotic hunter there ever was!

    When I grow up I think I'd make a great exotic hunter. I've always enjoyed hunting. One of my favorite things to do is go out hunting for deer. I even have some experience at hard shots. I'm really good at being stealthy, a good shot and i can survive, therefore, I will be the best exotic hunter that there ever was!

    Stealth has always come naturally to me. There was that time when I stalked a deer for a long time. I,m always practicing to be stealthy. Whenever I sneak, I feel like no one can find me, and i can do whatever i want. being stealthy is the first step along the path of being a exotic hunter.

    Being a good shot is another thing I really enjoy. Its so exciting to go to the shooting range and shoot bulls-eyes When I'm shooting I feel like I can shoot any target anywhere. I'm to shooting, what abraham lincoln is to not telling a lie. Being able to shoot for the rest of my life would be awesome!

    Surviving takes a special talent. I gained a lot of experience at building survival kits and making shelters in my backyard. I learned a lot about the tools and things you need to survive. for example, if you have a knife and a fire starter  and some extra stuff like:water bottle,compass,tarp,etc. Your chance of survival will be higher. The time I spent outside is sure to give me an advantage when it comes to becoming a exotic hunter.

    The three most important ingredients required in order to become a successful exotic hunter are stealth,shooting and survival, and I got them all! I want to hunt all day. I'm never so happy as when I'm in the midst of the outdoors. Its like how someone said "Bring a map...its awkward when you have to eat your buddies" When I shoot, I kill, that's why I'll be the best exotic hunter there ever was!
